GEORGE FRY LIVED
LIFE AT PLACE OF
BIRTH NEAR B.C.

George Lewis, son of David and Clementine Fry, was born April 10, 1890, on the Fry home place, four and one-quarter miles south of Barnes City. He passed away on the same farm Dec. 25, at seventy-two years of age.

He was educated in the Sand Ridge Rural School and was active in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

George was injured while playing when he was a small child. Osteomyelitis resulted from this injury, and he has suffered from this disease for the remainder of his life; for the past two years, he has been confined to his bed.

Oct. 29, 1919, he was united in marriage with Goldie Malin. For many years he and his brother, William, farmed their father's farm. After the death of his parents, he bought the original homestead, where he and Mrs. Fry have made their home until the present time.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie; two brothers, William, of Montezuma, and Charles, of Barnes City; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Johnson, of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. John Minner, of New Sharon; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for George Fry were held Dec. 28 at the Barnes City Methodist church, with Rev. William Moorhouse officiating, and Steffy Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Interment was at the Barnes City cemetery.

Mrs. Dorothy Grubb sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Garden" to the organ music played by Mrs. Eileen Landstrum.

Casketbearers were George Minner, Warren Loving, Dave Fry, Willard Braden, Phillip Fry, and Robert Malin.
