MR. FOSTER RITES TODAY

Charles L. Foster, 87, of Rte. 2, Tama, died early Tuesday morning at his home.

Funeral services were scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marcus Reitz, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Organist was to be Kathleen Heffner, with George Baustian, Harvey Harris, Wayne Hendrickson, Earl Miller, Larry Wade and Robert Wade serving as pallbearers.

Burial was to be at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The son of George and Katie Collins Foster, he was born Nov. 22, 1891, in Chester Township. He moved with his family to Grinnell and attended schools here.

Mr. Foster farmed all of his life in Chester and Sheridan townships. He was a former member of the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his children, Mrs. Floyd (Ruth) Puls of Grinnell and Charles Robert Foster of rural Tama; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cordelia Gill Foster, who died in 1949; two grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.
