Died, at his home in Warren township January 29, 1899, William Mowrey, aged 78 years, 11 months and 2 days. The deceased was born in Rockinham county, Virginia, Feb. 27, 1820. He came to this county in 18—and has continued to reside here from that time. He was the father of twelve children, five of whom preceded him to the other world. The other with the mother survive to mourn the loss of a kind husband and indulgent father. The funeral services were conducted in Grace M.E. church of this place by Rev. A. V. Kendrick. A large number of relatives and friends followed the remains to their last resting place in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
