McCULLOCH, Emily Maxwell 1841 – 1913

MCCULLOCH, MAXWELL, JOHNSON, MITCHELL, LANE, LEWIS

Emily Maxwell was born in Millersburg, Holmes County, Ohio, March 5, 1841 and died in Des Moines March 5, 1913, aged 72 years. She was the oldest daughter of Robert and Mary Tinkey Maxwell and was baptized in the Episcopalian church.

She was married to Isaac McCulloch in 1863. To this union four sons were born, Miller of Brooklyn, Bert and Grant of Des Moines and one son dying in infancy. Her husband was called to his reward in 1892. She leaves to mourn her loss three sons, five sisters and one brothers. They are: Mrs. Newton Johnson and Mrs. James Mitchell of Millersburg, Ohio, Mrs. Abe Lane of Clay City, Indiana, Mrs. W. A. Lewis of Clay Center, Kas., and Mrs. Dr. Geo. McCulloch of Humeston, Ia and Judge J. T. Maxwell of Millersburg, Ohio.

She was a kind and devoted wife and mother and a good neighbor.

The funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. S. E. Koons. Interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
