O.L. BRINEY DIES
AT MARSHALLTOWNO.L. Briney, for forty-seven years a resident of Montezuma, died at the home of his son, Jesse, at Marshalltown, Monday morning, of infirmities due to advanced age. He was born August 18, 1854. In 1881 he came to Montezuma, shortly after his marriage to Miss Hattie A. Stroder. Since March he had been making his home in Marshalltown.
In addition to his son in Marshalltown, he is survived by a son, William and a daughter, Ethel, both of Kansas City, Kansas, three sisters, Mrs. Lee Jordan, Los Angeles, Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson, Simi, Cal., and Mrs. S.J. Boyuls of Louisville, Kentucky, and a brother, Miles D., of Oskaloosa.
The body arrived in Montezuma shortly after noon today, and the Knights of Pythias of which he was a member, will have charge of the services at the grave. Mr. Briney was also a member of the carpenter's union.--Montezuma Republican.
