Patrick Keefe was born in Ireland in 1841. He came first to Tiskilva, Ill., and from there to Poweshiek county, Iowa, about thirty-six years ago, settling on a farm near Brooklyn where he and his family resided twenty five years, before coming to Brooklyn where he and his family had lived the past eleven years.

He is survived by his devoted wife, four sons, W. D. and J. J. of Chicago, John of Creston, Iowa and Charles of Brooklyn; also two daughters, Mrs. L. J. Carroll of Grinnell and Miss Maggie Keefe of Brooklyn.

Note: Burial was made in the Calvary cemetery at Brooklyn, Iowa.
