Francis Edward Kibbee, son of James and Elizabeth Kibbee, was born near Pleasant Ridge, July 1st, 1868. He grew to manhood in that community. He was married to Laura Peterson in Sioux City, Iowa, October 2nd, 1890. Two sons, Charles, now in the American service in France, and Lawrence of Amarilla, Texas, have blessed this union. Mr. Kibbee spent most of his life near Deep River. Six years ago he located at Grenada, Minnesota. For some time he has been a great sufferer and death came as a relief to his intense pain. Besides his wife and two sons, he leaves to mourn his death, his aged mother, two brothers, Robert of Grenada, Minn., and Elmer of Brooklyn, and four sisters, Mrs. Flora Porter, Selfridge, N.D., Mrs. Mabel Newton, Mt. Vernon, S.D., Mrs. Myrtle Hipp, Des Moines, and Mrs. Cora Smith of Brooklyn. He passed away at Rochester, Minn., Saturday, October 14th, 1922.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock, conducted by the Rev. E. W. F. Holler. Interment was in the beautiful I.O.O.F. cemetery.
