LUELLA PFANTZ

Luella M. Pfantz, 69, of Brooklyn died Saturday, Nov. 7, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Kalen Fristad officiating. Organist was Anita Ormiston, and soloist was Nancy Stewart.

Pallbearers were Chris, Kelly and Larry Pfantz, Joe Eggers, and Trelys and Blair Mitchell. Honorary bearers were Joshua McClenathan and Matthew Pfantz. Burial was in Brooklyn Cemetery, with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Howard and Maude Brannian Mitchell, she was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Brooklyn. She was a 1941 graduate of Brooklyn High School.

On March 1, 1947, she was married to James LeRoy Pfantz in State Center. Mrs. Pfantz was a lifelong resident of Brooklyn.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Kay Eggers of State Center, Phyllis Steffen of Malcom and Dotty McClenathan of Victor; two sons, Dennis of Grinnell and Jeff of Brooklyn; three brothers, Ernie Mitchell of Grinnell, Cecil Mitchell of Brooklyn and Bruce Mitchell of Fairfield, Calif.; her step-mother, Mae Mitchell of Grinnell; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
