DOROTHY SNYDER

Dorothy Douglas Snyder, 72, of Traer, formerly of Grinnell, died of a heart ailment Monday, June 10, at Covenant Medical Clinic in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Henry and Marie Ryan Fleener, she was born March 28, 1930, in Grinnell, where she was raised and educated. She was married to Richard Douglas Sr. and the couple lived in Newton. Thy were later divorced, and she moved to Burlington.

She was married to Lawrence Snyder in Burlington and was employed at the ammunitions plant there for several years, later caring for the elderly in their homes.

She returned to Grinnell in 1990 and to Burlington in 1998 prior to moving to a nursing home in Traer in 2000.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Douglas of Toledo, Raymond Douglas of New London and Martin Douglas of Burlington; three brothers, Harrison Fleener of Traer and Dale and Bernard Fleener, both of Grinnell; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Her parents and one sister, Anne Vogel, preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Douglas Snyder Memorial Fund.
