MRS. LELAND CLARK
DIES AT MALCOM;
SERVICES TODAY

Mrs. Leland (Pearle) Clark, 74, Malcom, died suddenly Friday evening while attending a Rebekah Lodge meeting at the Wayne Reams farm home north of Malcom.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Monday) from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. E.E. Beattie, pastor of the Malcom Presbyerian church, officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner as organist, and Dale Clark as vocalist.

Pallbearers were George Baustian, William Osmond, Raymond Peters, Elmer Schultz, Lester Smith and Henry Wichman. Burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Malcom Rebekah Lodge.

Mrs. Clark was the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Cunningham Overman and was born at Atalissa, Iowa, on March 13th, 1885. Later the family moved to the Malcom community and she graduated from Malcom high school and taught school in several rural schools in Poweshiek county.

On Christmas Day, 1908, she was united in marriage with Leland Clark in Montezuma. To this union were born two children: Floyd Clark of Grinnell and Mrs. Carl (Lucille) G. Larsen of Omaha, Neb.

The family lived on a farm near Ewart and 16 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Clark moved to Malcom where they owned and operated a grocery store.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Malcom Methodist church and the Rebekah Lodge, of which she was a Past Noble Grand.

She is survived by her husband, Leland; her two children and two grand-children; two brothers, Charles Overman of Flint, Mich.; Jesse Overman of Detroit, Mich.; and one sister, Myrtle Overman of Pasadena, California.
