FLORENCE FERGUSON

Florence E. Ferguson, 87, of the Mayflower died of a heart ailment Monday, Jan. 29.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Activity Center of the Mayflower, with the Rev. Robert Molsberry, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Pianist will be Norman Goodbrod.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton, at a later date.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the United Church of Christ-Congregational or to the Mayflower.

The daughter of Clinton B. and Jenny Skinner Zollinger, she was born Jan. 5, 1908, in Vinton. The family moved to Cedar Rapids where she graduated from high school. She was a graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids and taught home economics at Vinton. She later worked as an extension agent in home economics in Hancock and Cerro Gordo counties.

She was married to Lewis Ferguson in 1939. The couple lived in LaPorte City. She also had lived in Long Beach, Calif., before moving to the Mayflower in 1976.

Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational. She was also a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Surviving is a sister, Josephine Jones of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
