RUTH PECHER

Mrs. Ruth Pecher, 78, of Brooklyn, died Thursday afternoon, Dec. 1, 1988, in the Brookhaven Nursing Home, Brooklyn.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Pecher were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5, in the Church of the Brethren, rural Brooklyn, The Pastor, Rev. Gerald Klaus, officiated and was the soloist. Mrs. Karen Klaus was the pianist. Casket Bearers were Michael Fisher, Mark Fisher, Robert McCulley, Jr., Jeff Uthoff, Edwin Ploog, Jr., and George Hauersperger. Interment was in the Brooklyn Cemetery.

The Nevenhoven Funeral Home of Brooklyn was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Elizabeth Ploog Pecher, daughter of William and Grace Barker Ploog, was born April 16, 1910, in McCausland, Ia.

She was united in marriage to Rudolph Pecher on February 15, 1930, in Davenport. Mr. Pecher was a farm hand and the family lived several places before moving in Brooklyn in 1946. Mr. Pecher died in 1948.

Mrs. Pecher was a member of the Church of the Brethren of Brooklyn.

Survivors include one son, William Pecher of Vallejo, Calif.; three daughters, Barbara, Mrs. Emerald Fisher of Brooklyn, Mrs. Grace Niccum of Mountain View, Calif., and Betty, Mrs. Arthur Uthoff, Jr., of Independence, Ia.; one brother, Edwin Ploog of Keswick; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, and one sister, Mrs. Elsie McCulley.
