RITES HELD FOR
MARGARET LONGMORE

Services for Margaret Armstrong Longmore were held Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Steffy Funeral Home. They were conducted by Rev. C.R. Dicken. Interment was in the Jackson Township Cemetery at Montezuma.

Casket bearers were Tom and James Gauley, Charles Johnston, Jess Stilson, Ed Allely and A.G. Fett.

OBITUARY

Margaret Armstrong, daughter of Christopher and Margaret Armstrong, was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland on July 2, 1867. She baptized in early life and confirmed in later years. She came to America with two brothers in 1890 and they settled in the state of Illinois. She was united in marriage to Joseph Longmore on March 18, 1896. To this union two children were born.

Mr. and Mrs. Longmore joined the First Presbyterian Church of Montezuma, Iowa on May 26, 1901. Mrs. Longmore was very faithful in her church attendance and in her work in the church as long as she was able. After a lingering illness, she passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, 1959 reaching the age of 91 years, 7 months and 24 days.

She is survived by her two children, Rea Joseph and Anna Mary; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Rea Longmore; a brother, James of Vancouver, Canada; and many nephews, nieces and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1940 and a grandson, Joseph Rea.
