DEATH VISITS FAMILY
OF 17 CHILDREN
FOR FIRST TIME

BROOKLYN (Special) Funeral services were held Tuesday for Lyle Raymond Kriegel, eight years old, who died last Sunday of lymphatic leuklemia, a rare blood disease.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kriegel, who live 11 miles northwest of Brooklyn and it was the first death in their family of 17 children.

The youngster took sick about six weeks ago but his condition did not seem to require medical attention until about three weeks ago.

When it was discovered he was a victim of the unusual ailment he was taken to the university hospital at Iowa City, but his parents were told that nothing could be done for him as medical science has found no cure for this disease.

Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters and 12 brothers.
