ESTHER A. RISHER

Esther A. Risher, 98, of Des Moines, a native of Grinnell, died Sunday, March 14, at Urbandale Health Care Center.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at Dunn's Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

The daughter of John H. and Mary Jane Worchester Patton, she was born Jan. 5, 1895, in Grinnell. She was a gradaute of Grinnell High School and attended Grinnell College where she studied music.

She was married to Frank G. Risher June 12, 1922.

Mrs. Risher was a bookkeeper for the Iowa Heart Association, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, DeNova Order of Eastern Star, the American Association of Retired Persons, Business and Professional Women and the Easter Seal Society.

Surviving are a daughter, Beverly A. Laws of Des Moines, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one sister Mary Edith Knapp of Grinnell, and four brothers, Homer, John, Edward and Paul Patton.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
