MRS. LOUIE CALLISON

Mattie Callison, daughter of W.A. and Mary E. Bryan was born near Montezuma, Poweshiek County, Iowa, June 24, 1878. While a small child her parents moved to Kansas where she grew to womanhood, returning to Grinnell in 1901.

On March 15, 1896 she was married to Louie Callison of Kansas. To this union were born two sons, Irvin who died in 1936, and Errett now of Phoenix, Arizona. Her husband preceded her in death in 1937.

When a young girl she confessed Christ and united with the Christian church. Throughout her life, and over 50 years as a resident of Grinnell, she loved her home and her neighbors. She was active to the end of her life, although she suffered from heart trouble for the past ten years.

She was stricken early Sunday morning and removed to the hospital where she passed away the same day, August 23, 1953, more than 75 years of age.

In addition to her son, Errett, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Will Dunton, New Sharon, two brothers, Charles of Grinnell, and Wm. Ernest of Barnes City, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 28 at 2 p.m. at James funeral home. Rev. C.E. Kingsley will conduct last rites.

The pall bearers will be Virgil Dunton, William Bryan, Thomas Levake, Albert Bryan, Alvin Bryan and Robert Bryan.

Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.
