H. WORTH BELDEN
SERVICES TUESDAY

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home for H. Worth Belden, 71, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, who died early Sunday morning at University Hospitals in Iowa City following hospitalization of the past two weeks.

The Rev. Ercil Craven, minister of the Oak Grove Friends church, will officiate at the services. Organist will be Mrs. Willard Heffner.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Adkins, Carl Boget, Grinnell Dunham, Henry T. Koger, Thomas Lowry and John H. Peters. Flowerbearers will be Mrs. Kenneth Adkins, Mrs. Carl Boget and Mrs. Henry T. Koger.

Burial will be in Lower Blue Point cemetery south of Grinnell.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

The son of Mark and Mariva Brooks Belden, Mr. Belden was born near Dexter, Iowa, on Oct. 5, 1897. His family moved to Grinnell when he was a young boy and he attended the Grinnell schools. Following high school he graduated from Automobile Mechanic School in Detroit, Mich.

On Nov. 29, 1935, he married Martha Rivers at Newton, Iowa.

Mr. Belden farmed for 27 years north of Grinnell and since 1947, he and Mrs. Belden had made their home on the family farm in Washington Township. He also served for more than 38 years as a substitute rural mail carrier out of Grinnell. He was a member of the National Rural Carriers Association and the Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, and one sister, Miss Grace Belden of Detroit, Mich.

Mr. Belden, was preceded in death by his parents.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Mr. Belden's memory to the Heart Fund in care of the local postmaster.
