JOYCE M. BODENHAMER
June 29, 1932 to December 23, 2012

Joyce was a true Angel to all. She is survived by her two sons Richard, wife Andrea and granddaughter Ella Joy; and Robert, wife Christina and grandsons Connor and Tyler, all of San Diego. She is also survived by her sister Betty Gerver of Grinnell and foster sons Tim and Dong Nguyen.

Preceded in death by husband William in 1981; and parents, H.P. and Patsy Broyles in 1979.

Born in Grinnell, Joyce attended Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and received her registration (RN) in 1953. She also received a Master's Degree in Child Development and Psychology. Joyce was an aspiring writer and Camp Nurse for San Diego County's Outdoor Education Program. Joyce lived for 45 years in San Diego's South Clairemont neighborhood, attended St. David's Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry and Choir. Joyce radiated warmth and compassion for all those that she touched in the San Diego community.
