SHIFFLET FUNERAL SERVICES HELD OCT. 11

The funeral of Carlton H. Shifflet was held Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Deep River Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Gamble in charge of the services. Harden chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in Sixteen Cemetery with Warren Fisch, Floyd Tish, Arthur Merck, Donald Armstrong, Leslie Clark and Charley Seaton serving as pallbearers.

Music was provided by soloist Keith Stahl accompanied by Mrs. Lyle Cole.

Mr. Shifflet, 71, died Sunday, Oct. 9, at his home near Deep River.

The son of Edward and Louetta McNabb Shifflet, he was born Jan. 25, 1895, near Delta, Iowa. On May 17, 1929, he was married to the former Catherine McGimpsey.

He was a member of the Thornburg Methodist Church and had been a farmer near Deep River for the past 50 years.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Caroleen) Cogley of Colfax and Mrs. Joe (Kathleen) Wright of Monticello; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
