BARBARA SHIFFLETT

Barbara B. Shifflett, 88, of 6261 E. Pinchot St., Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, May 16, at her home.

A prayer service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10:30 that morning at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Lon Lewis, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no visitation.

She was born March 23, 1906, in Wild Rose, Wis., the daughter of Paul and Kathi Van Saalzen Borwith. She attended Ripon College and graduated from Columbia University.

She was married to Everett J. Shifflett of Grinnell in August 1937. The couple lived in New York City where Mr. Shifflett was a partner in an accounting firm. They retired in 1965 and moved to Scottsdale where Mrs. Shifflett was active in fund-raising events, flower shows and museum work.

There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
