DIED.

CASS.--In this city, Saturday, March 14th, Mr. N.M. Cass, of rheumatism terminating in dropsy of the heart, aged 47 years.

The funeral was held, from the residence at two o'clock yesterday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of citizens. All places of business were closed from two to four in the afternoon out of respect for the dead. He was a member of the order of Odd Fellows, which order was present in uniform at the services. The Poweshiek Encampment came up to act as guard of honor, and several visiting members from the lodges at Searsboro, Malcom, Brooklyn and New Sharon were present. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen and many of it members joined in the procession. Mr. Cass had been a resident of this place for about 17 years and has always borne the character of a stirring, upright business man. He enjoyed in a marked degree the respect and goodwill of his fellow citizens.
