SATURDAY RITES
HELD HERE FOR
MRS. ELMER GALT

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Mayflower Home for Mrs. Madeline B. Galt, 81, Grinnell, who died Thursday morning at a local hospital where she had been a patient for the past three days.

Officiating at the services were the Rev. Robert D. Dewey and the Rev. Judson E. Fiebiger. Piano music was provided by Mrs. Bertha Smiley.

Serving as pallbearers were Willis Shuey, William Dreier, Addison Jones, David Matlack, Donald Nebergall, and A.C. Eisenman. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The daughter of Hans and Adelaide Grabau Schmidt, she was born July 11, 1881, at Oakfield, Mo. She was united in marriage with the Rev. Otto W. Lauxmann and they moved to Iowa in 1925 and held pastorates in Marshalltown, Fontanelle, Eldon and Corning. They lived at Creston for 17 years after retirement and moved to Grinnell to reside at the Mayflower Home on June 30, 1953.

Rev. Lauxmann preceded her in death on March 9, 1955.

She was united in marriage with the Rev. Elmer Galt on April 10, 1957, at Mayflower Home and the following May they moved to their home at 635 Broad St.

Mrs. Galt was a member of the First Congregational church and the Women's Fellowship.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Galt is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Adelaide Mueller of Buffalo, N.Y., and Mrs. Alta Mae Dulyea of Grand Rapids, Mich.
