Funeral and Obituary.

The funeral of Joseph L. Jenkins was held from the house of his parents in Grinnell, Friday afternoon at half-past two. Rev. Elias Handy was in charge of the services and the Methodist quartette furnished the music. The burial was at Hazelwood.

The following obituary was read by Rev. Handy:

Joseph Lee Jenkins, eldest child of Bartholomew and Sarah Jane Jenkins was born in Washington township, near Grinnell, Iowa, New Year's day, 1864, and passed away in Providence Hospital, Everett, Wash., Tuesday night at 11:45, October 4, 1910, of heart failure. All of his life having been lived with his parents with the exception of the last four years which was lived in Everett, Wash.

He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge No. 187, also the Royal Purple No. 46, Plymouth Rebekah and Loyal Order of Moose No. 248, all of Everett, Washington.

He was a kind and dutiful son, and a loving brother. Although of a retiring nature, he made many friends, and was kind and generous to all. He leaves to mourn his loss a father and mother; one brother, Thomas B. Jenkins, and the following sisters: Mrs. Hattie Barnes, Mrs. Geo. Lewis, Mrs. Will Wesco, Mrs. Chas. Buswell and Miss Nan Jenkins, all of the city.
