High School Loses Industrious Junior
With Untimely Death of
Miss Keener.

Miss Alta Grace Keener, after a week's illness from flu combined with pneumonia, passed away yesterday morning at 9:00 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Hurr at 1008 Park street, where she was rooming. Miss Keener was at the age of 16 years and was a Junior in Grinnell High School where she had many friends, who regret her passing. During her entire school course in Grinnell High she has been industrious and persevering.

She was born at Newburg on September 22, 1907 and leaves to mourn her untimely death a mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Keener, who live ten miles south-west of Grinnell, two sisters, Ethel, and Merle, who graduated from Grinnell High School in the class of '23. Funeral arrangements have not been completed, but burial will be made at the Bethel Church Cemetery, the Rev. W.J. Todd and Rev. Oren Hutchins, conducting the services.
