--Francis Sturgeon was born in the state of Ohio, Sept. 21, 1834, and departed this life Sept. 13, 1893 at his home in Ewart, Iowa. He came to Iowa when a young man, and was united in marriage with Miss Susanna Loman, who survives him. The funeral sermon was preached Sept. 14, at the M .E. church by Rev. M.A. Meagher, and the body was laid to rest in the Ewart cemetery.
