OBITUARY.
Mrs. Sybil H. Perry was born at Milford, Otsego county, N.Y. January 17, 1817 and died at the home of her granddaugher, Mrs. E.G. Paine in this city, Feb. 20, 1907, as a result of apoplexy, so was in her ninety first year.
She had been twice married but for the past thirty six years had been a widow. She was the mother of seven children, four of whom are living. They are Sidney Gardner of Republic City, Kas., Mrs. Olive Douglas of Grinnell, Mrs. John Cue of Shellsburg, Kas., and Mrs. Elizbeth Cue, formerly of Boone but now of Grinnell.
When but a small girl the deceased was converted and became a member of the Methodist church and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since. Tho deprived of the pleasure of attending the church services on account of the infirmities of age, she loved to know of its work and was a close student of the Bible and of the Methodist hymnology. Her life and example were in inspiration to all about her in moral and spiritual things.
Mrs. Perry will be missed very much in the home circle but her hope was bright, her faith unwavering and her prospects for a future life abundant.
Brief funeral services were conducted at the Paine home, 523 Broad St., by the Rev. C.H. Montgomery, in the absence of the Rev. J.M. McClelland of the M.E. church, Friday at 10:00 o'clock. The remains were accompanied to Newton by loving relatives and laid to rest in the family lot there.
