HAROLD DOST SERVICES HELD
Harold Dost, 58, of Grinnell died of cancer Thursday, July 31, at the Montezuma Senior Home.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth D. Wallace, pastor of the Newburg-Chester Congregational United Church of Christ, officiating. Organist was Kathleen Heffner, and pallbearers were Jerry Baker, Kenneth R. Beck, Michael W. Johnson, James W. Lemke, Miles Phipps and John Stevens. Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1928, in Grinnell, and lived for a time with his grandparents, William and Julia Baake Dost. He attended rural school near Malcom.
He had worked for Midwest Metal Stamping Co. in Kellogg and for Robintech in Grinnell.
He is survived by his brothers, Kenneth R. Beck of Dubuque, Robert W. Beck of Broomfield, Colo., and Donald E. Beck of Neptune Beach, Fla.; and his sister, Ruth Pierce of New sharon.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Margaret Dost Beck; his stepfather, Ralph E. Beck; and one brother, Jerry W. Beck.
