MRS. LUCY S. TUTTLE

Mrs. Lucy S. Tuttle died Sunday morning, December 6th, at the home of her son, Rev. Henry W. Tuttle, of this city. She lacked one day of being eighty-eight years old.

Mrs. Tuttle's maiden name was Howe. She was born in central New York near the city of Syracuse in the township of Otisco. In her young womanhood she was a successful teacher. In 1859 she was married to Wm. N. Tuttle who survives her. For more than a generation she was a teacher in the Sunday school, and from her childhood a member of the Congregational church.

Owing to declining strength she came in 1899, together with her husband to live with their son who was then pastor of the Congregational church in Manchester, Iowa. Since August, *1915, she has lived with her son in this city. At the time of her death she was a member of the Congregational church in this place and also a member of the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

For several years she has been in feeble health. She has borne the burden of illness and physical weakness with great fortitude.

To the circle of friends who knew her she endeared herself. In her home she was vitally interested in everything, keenly sympathetic and constantly inspiring.
