TREVA CONNELL, 89

Treva Zelma Connell, 89, of Barnes City, died Friday, May 10, at the Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service was Monday, May 12, at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma with the Rev. Paul Septer of Faith Christian Center officiating. Interment was at Sixteen Cemetery, Thornburg. Casket bearers were Melvin, Randy, Richard and Steve Ranfeld, Ron Grier and Marvin Waline.

Memorials have been established for the Barnes City Fire Department and Faith Christian Center, Montezuma.

Treva was born July 6, 1912, on a farm south of Victor, the daughter of John and Minnie (Schrader) Ranfeld. When she was two years old, her parents moved to a farm southeast of Guernsey. She attended country school and Guernsey High School. She was united in marriage to Perry Connell on Feb. 16, 1938, at the Methodist Parsonage at Marengo. She lived on a farm most of her life in Deep River, Brooklyn and Barnes City. Treva enjoyed sewing and working with crafts and she collected red cardinals. She attended the Faith Christian Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry; four brothers, Roy, Lester, Bert and Mern Ranfled; and three sisters, Rose Keller, Leola Ranfeld, and Velma Holan.
