MRS. KATE RAMEY

Word has been received here of the death at Denver on Janaury 21, of Mrs. Kate Ramey, as the result of a stroke of paralysis. She suffered from a stroke about three months ago and a second stroke a few weeks ago, from which her death resulted. A letter from her husband, H.M. Ramey, who is in the Odd Fellows home at Mason City, says: "It has been her urgent request that her remains be cremated, to which we have all agreed." Mrs. Ramey was so long one of the strong, active women of Grinnell, that her death will be regretted by a large circle of friends.

KATE M. RAMEY

The ashes of Mrs. Kate M. Ramey, who died last January in Denver and whose body was cremated there on January 28, were brought to Grinnell this morning for interment. Mrs. Ramey was the wife of H.M. Ramey, who years ago was a member of the firm of Howard & Ramey, furniture dealers on the same site where the new building of the Grinnell Savings Bank now stands. Mr. Ramey is now an inmate of the Odd Fellows home in Mason City and is not well enough to come to Grinnell.

Mr. and Mrs. Ramey moved to Denver a number of years ago. Here they lived until Mr. Ramey's health became so poor that he entered the I.O.O.F. home. Since then Mrs. Ramey has been in the home of her husband's former partner, W.M. Howard.
Interment in Hazelwood cemetery will not be made until next week.
