RITES TODAY

Nora M. Gordon, 95, of 422 Fifth Ave., Grinnell, died Sunday, July 1, at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Organist will be Alice Renaud.

Pallbearers will be Harry Bitcon, Bill Burk, Joe Edelen, Harold Moyer, Mark Rutherford and Steve Rutherford. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Newburg. Memorials in Mrs. Gordon's name may be made to the United Church of Christ-Congregational.

The daughter of John and Matilda Meredith Murphy, she was born Feb. 1, 1889, near Malcom. She attended schools at Malcom, Maple Grove and Grinnell. She moved with her family to Grinnell in 1917.

On June 1, 1932, she was married to Campbell A. Gordon in Grinnell. She was employed as a cashier and bookkeeper at Spurgeon's store here for 13 years.

Mrs. Gordon, the oldest member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational here, was a former member of the DAR, the Omega Sigma Club, the Thursday Club and the Order of Eastern Star.

There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and two sisters.
