OBITUARY.

MRS. U.M. HIBBETS

Maud Lee Gill was born in Kirksville, Mo., July 12, 1869. She was married to Dr. U.M. Hibbets at Kirksville October 16, 1889, and soon thereafter made their home in Grinnell. Two children came to bless the home, one being removed by death while Dr. and Mrs. Hibbets were in California last winter. The other, a bright boy, is left to comfort the father.

Mrs. Hibbets, always in delicate health, contracted a severe cold a year ago which speedily developed into tuberculosis of the larynx, which it was impossible to check and resulted in her death on Wednesday, June 4th.

In the fall of '98 she united with the Christian church and left a comforting testimony to her husband of great peace in her Savior.

Mrs. Hibbets was in many respects a rare wife and mother. She was particularly devoted to her home and family and ever jealously guarded their interests. Kindly considerate of all whom she knew, she leaves with her many friends the fragrance of a gracious spirit, pure life, and beautiful christian character. Her memory is blessed.

The funeral was held at the Hibbets home on Thursday, conducted by the Rev. W.P. Stoddard, and the remains were interred at Kirksville, Mo.
