OBITUARY.

WILBUR E. SQUIRES

Wilbur E. Squires was born in Clarksfield, Aurora county, Ohio, on September 14, 1854. When fourteen years of age his father died and he was left with his mother--protectors of a family of younger children. In 1870 they removed to Iowa, settling near Iowa City and a little later moved to the vicinity of Grinnell, where he has since resided.

He was married to Miss Martha Jones in March 1886. To them were born two children, Edward and Esther, who with their mother, survive him.

Mr. Squires was an honest, industrious, intelligent citizen. He was stricken with the disease that caused his death some years ago and has suffered greatly.

He united with the Methodist Episcopal church in this city some six months ago.

The funeral was conducted on November 27, at his home, by Rev. Elias Handy and the Rev. T.B. Hughes. He died November 25, at three a.m.
