CLARK A. BRINK

Clark A. Brink, 78, of 611 Fifth Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Friday, Jan 31, at his home.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Delbert Elliot officiating. Organist was Alice Renaud. Pallbearers were Wilbur Anderson, John Breeden, Ron Curry, Ron Halblom, Jerry Henning and Bill Tinkle. Honorary bearers were Al Henderson, Howard McDonough, John Peak, Phil Palmer, Roger Roland and Wendel Sleeuwenhoek. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Memorials in Mr. Brink's name may be made to Hospice Grinnell.

The son of Clifford and Edith Armogost Brink, he was born Aug. 19, 1913, near Nashua. He attended school in Grinnell and Montana.

He was married to Faye Thornton Feb. 29, 1936, in Aledo, Ill. Mr. Brink began his own trucking business in 1931 and later acquired the Mobil Oil distributorship here. He owned the local GMC truck dealership franchise from 1957 to 1985. In 1981, he also became a bonded grain dealer.

Surviving are his wife, Faye; one daughter, Diane Baltisberger of Grinnell; and one brother, Carroll of Billings, Mont. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters; one sister, Doris Brown; and three brothers, Cecil, Leon and Paul.
