Obituary dated Sept. 16, 1932

MRS. EVA LUCKEY
FUNERAL IS HELD
HERE WEDNESDAY

The funeral services for Mrs. Eva Gaslin Luckey who passed away at the St. Francis hospital Monday were held Wednesday afternoon from the Baptist church with Rev. William Welsh in charge. Burial was at Hazelwood.

Eva Gaslin Luckey was born November 4, 1855, and departed this life September 12, 1932, being 76 years, 10 months and 23 days of age. Nearly seven years ago she suffered a stroke and was taken to the St. Francis hospital. A week ago she had another stroke which was too much for her and she passed away peacefully Monday evening.

She was a member of the Baptist church and although deprived of the privileges of attending church she was always interested in the work of the Lord. She was a patient sufferer for many years and leaves to mourn her passing a number of nieces and nephews, one of whom, Harold E.Shaw, who lives in New Jersey and has kept in touch with his aunt during her stay at the hospital, but who was unable to be present at the funeral, authorized the burial plans. Nieces present at the funeral were Mrs. I.A. Green and Mrs. W.R. Luckey of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Charles Glaspey of Independence.
