MRS. J. COLE

Mrs. J. Cole died at her home, 704 Fourth Avenue at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning after an illness of six weeks. The funeral will be held from the Friends church Saturday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.M. Sopher. Mrs. Cole had been sinking gradually for some days and the news that the end has come has brought sorrow to many friends who mourn a good woman gone.

MRS. J. COLE

Synthia Rucker was born near Belle Plaine, Benton county, Iowa, in the year 1855, September 8th, and died at her home, 703 Fourth Ave., Grinnell, Iowa, Sept. 24th, 1914, aged 59 years, 16 days.

She was united in marriage January 9th, 1875, with Joshua Cole.

She united with the Methodist church when 15 years of age, being a faithful member until 1909, when she was transferred by letter to the Friends church of which she remained a member until her death.

She leaves, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. T.B. Jenkins, Miles, Oklahoma; Mrs. A .J. Holden, Latimer, Iowa; two sons, O.A. and C.L. Cole, Grinnell, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Ringler, Sedalia, Mo., and Mrs. Lou Richeson, Creswell, Oregon; two brothers, Deviney and Charles Rucker, of Belle Plaine, Iowa.

The funeral was held at the Friends church in charge of Rev. Joseph Sopher. The large attendance evidenced the high esteem in which Mrs. Cole was held by her townspeople. Interment was in the Hazelwood cemetery.

She is not dead, this one of our affection
But gone unto that school
Where she no longer needs our poor
protection
But Christ Himself doth rule.
