MRS. ARVILLA MACKIN

Arvilla Rounds was born in Ohio, April 16, 1843, and died at the home of her son in Grinnell, March 16, 1913, aged 69 years and 11 months. At the age of 23 she was married to Mathias Mackin, who died in January, 1912. To them was born one son, George who resides on High street. In 1873 she removed with her husband to Grinnell where she resided for six years; then removing to a farm southeast of town. Here she spent the remainder of her life except the last few weeks when she came to Grinnell intending to make this her future home. She was a member of the Grinnell Christian church, and died in the triumphs of the faith in Christ. Grandma Mackin, as she was lovingly called, found her chief joy in the home which she so richly blessed by her gentle ministrations. The immediate relatives left to mourn her going away are a son, George, a sister, Mrs. Minta Boswick, of Prairie City, Mrs. Durr of near Malcom, who made her home with Mrs. Mackin during her girlhood days, and two grandchildren.

The funeral services were held at the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. W.B. Wilson.
