GOLDA WALKER SERVICES HELD
Golda Walker, 90, of Brooklyn died early Thursday at the Brookhaven Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Lynn Williams, pastor of the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Victor.
The daughter of Ira and Minnie Masker Decker, she was born Nov. 8, 1889, near Chelsea. She was married to Eugene Hughes on April 24, 1906, and he preceded her in death in 1928. On Dec. 29, 1930, she was married to Everett Walker, and they farmed near Hartwick until retiring and moving to Brooklyn. Mr. Walker died in 1959.
Mrs. Walker is survived by two sons, Melvin Hughes of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Loren Hughes of Antioch, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Lucille) Manatt of Brooklyn, Mrs. Merlyn (Edith) Martinson of Marengo and Mrs. Gene (Marlene) Gritsch of Grinnell; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, three sons, four brothers and one sister.
