MRS. ROSELLA WORCESTER

Rosella Parmenter, daughter of George D. and Lydia Roberts Parmenter was born June 17, 1877 on a farm near Gilman, and after several years of failing health passed away in a local hospital September 8, 1952 at the age of seventy-five years.

She with her parents moved to a farm west of Grinnell in 1893. After attending high school she was for a time a teacher in rural schools. In 1902 the family moved to Grinnell where she made her home ever since.

On October 18, 1906 she was united in marriage with Othello J. Worcester. To this union was born one son Paul F., who survives. She became a member of the First Baptist church at an early age and later was a charter member of Calvary Baptist church. Mr. Worcester died April 19, 1938.

Besides her son she is survived by a brother, Marcus Parmenter of Corvallis, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Johnson and Mrs. Howard Hyde, both of Grinnell, sevearl nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held September 11, 1952 at Calvary Baptist Church in Grinnell in charge of Rev. David Leeper. Two favorite songs were sung by Edward Bohstedt accompanied by Mrs. Bohstedt. Casket bearers were John Alertsen, Horace Ent, Raymond Selle, Will Tesser, Fred Weaver, and Fred Whittaker. Mrs. Ed Bohstedt Sr. and Miss Beulah Sparks had charge of the flowers. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Relatives from out of town attending the services were Mrs. Fred Hofer and Myron Parmenter of Taylor Ridge, Ill., Mrs. Henry Fuhr and Clarence Roberts of Rock Island, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Glen Philip of Jessup, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood of Hudson, Mrs. Esther Risher and Mrs. Mildred Litzenberg of Des Moines, Mrs. Edith Knapp of Montezuma, Mr. and Mrs. George Parmenter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Parmenter, Mrs. Laura Hill, Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Frankforth, all of Gilman.
