AN OBITUARY OF LIZZIE RUSSELL

Lizzie Russell, daughter of Richard and Louisa Russell, was born in Jefferson county Iowa, on Feb. 10, 1870, and departed this life Jan. 21, aged 63 years, 11 months and 11 days.

She came to Poweshiek county in 1885 and made her home with an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Parker, for several years. For the past 20 years or more she had made her home in Grinnell.

She has been a member of the Methodist church for several years. Her church has meant much to her. She was faithful and loyal to its teachings.

She leaves to mourn her loss two sisters, Mrs. T.J. Martin of Grinnell and Mrs. Delilah Powers of Lorimer, a half brother, Harry Russell of Macksville, Kans., besides a number of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H.S. Wilkinson in the Methodist church Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Roscoe Dempster and Mrs. A.H. Rumple sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me." Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.
