FORMER KELLOGG MAN IS DEAD

Kellogg, Ia., Sept. 8. Special):

W.C. Kimberly, former Kellogg business man, died at his home in Mrshalltown August 15, following a long illness of a chronic trouble.

He was born in Jefferson county Sept. 6, 1842, and enlisted for service in the Civil War at Newton in 1864, as a member of the First Iowa cavalry. He was discharged two years later at Davenport and following the war he served on the Mexican border where trouble continued for several months.

He was united in marriage to Miss Emmeline Eleanor Parker, near Kellogg October 27, 1872, and three daughters were born of this union, one of whom with the mother preceded him in death.

Mr. Kimberly was engaged in the insurance and real estate business during his residence here.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Miss Emma Grace, at home and Mrs. Robert Stuart of Evanston, Ill.

Funeral services were held at the Pursel Funeral Home in Marshalltown the following Thursday afternoon and burial was made in the family lot in Riverside.
