Talbert rites Feb. 20

The funeral of Glenn S. Talbert, 61, of Searsboro, was Feb. 20, 1987 at Watts Funeral Home. He died February 19 at Grinnell General Hospital. Pastor Bill Ell of West Liberty Church of Christ officiated and burial was in West Liberty Church of Christ.

Phil Grimm, Chad Grimm, Kirby Scull, Russ Talbert, Rick Talbert and Brent Talbert were casket bearers. Virginia Striegel was vocalist and Verla Van Dee was organist.

Mr. Talbert was born on Oct. 22, 1925, in Grinnell and was the son of Harold and Mae Gilbert Talbert. On Aug. 1, 1949, he married Dorothy Fayer in Montezuma. He farmed most of his life and was a member of the Eagles in Grinnell.

He is survived by these members of his family: Bev Scull of Lynnville; Sheryl and Kenneth S. Grimm of North English; Vicky and Keith Kirchhoff of Bonnerdale, Ark.; Tom and Dana Talbert of Deep River; Judy and Paul Striegel of What Cheer; David Michael Talbert of Dallas, Tex.; Karen and Jim Markham of Amarillo, Tex.; and Kris Talbert of Deep River; 14 grandchildren; a sister Faye Talbert of Montezuma; two brothers, Russell Talbert of New Sharon and Michael Talbert of Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jeff and Randy; and an infant sister.
