MRS. ALICE COMLY

Mrs. Alice Comly died at her home in this city Wednesday morning, January 28, at six o'clock. Alice M. Buck was born at Hillsboro, O., March 23, 1851, and was the fifth in a family of nine children. In 1865 she came west with her father, William Buck, and located in Poweshiek county, on a farm near Montezuma. She was married to Jesse R. Comly in 1873 and two years later they removed to a farm near Casey, Iowa, where the family resided until Mr. Comly's death in 1898. Three children were born to this union: Ardon and Troy R., of Casey, Ia., and one son died in infancy.

Mrs. Comly came to Grinnell in 1902 to make her home with her sisters, Mrs. Thomas Bump and Miss Harriet Buck. She was a member of the Congregational church and took an active interest in church work. She was an excellent type of woman, a good Christian, and will be mourned by a large circle of friends in this community. Besides her two sons and two sisters, one brother, William Buck, of Superior, Nebr., and four grandchildren survive.

Interment was made on Friday in the cemetery of the Friends church of Canby, Iowa, near Casey, where her body rests beside that of her husband. Her sons and her two sisters accompanied the body and her brother, William Buck, met the party in Casey.

CARD OF THANKS.

We wish to thank very sincerely all the friends whose sympathy and aid were extended to us in our recent bereavement in the death of our sister, Mrs. Alice Comly.
MISS HARRIET BUCK.
MRS. T.B. BUMP.
WM. BUCK.
