EARLY SETTLER DIES IN CALIF.

George A. Proctor, Sr., died last Monday, July 18, at his home in Santa Cruz, Calif., according to word received in Grinnell by Mrs. Grant Ramsey, a niece of Mr. Proctor. Mr. Proctor was one of Grinnell's real pioneers, having lived here most of his life until he went to California about fifteen years ago. He is well known by many Grinnell people, especially the older residents. Mr. proctor was 82 years old at the time of his death.

Burial was at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, Calif. Further particulars and an obituary will appear in a later edition of The Herald.
