DONNA DODSON DIES IN CRASH; RITES PENDING

Donna Dodson, 28, formerly of Grinnell, was killed early Wednesday morning when her car went out of control and crashed on Interstate 80 west of Newton.

The daughter of Homer M. and Dorothea Shirer Dodson, she was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Grinnell. She attended Grinnell schools, graduating from high school in 1965 and from the University of Northern Iowa in 1969.

She had taught in the Grimes schools since her graduation from college. She was an instructor in mathematics in the junior high school there. Miss Dodson was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Homer Dodson of Horseshoe Bend, Ark.; her sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Karen) Buffington of Ottawa, Ill., Mrs. Paul (Shirley) Phillips of Grinnell, and Mrs. Rodney (Connie) Carlson of Grinnell; her brothers, Robert Dean Dodson of Virginia Beach, Va., and Roger Benjamine Dodson of Marcel, Ill.; and her step-grandmother, Mrs. Clistie Dodson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Dodson, April 27, 1974.

Funeral services for Miss Dodson are pending at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home, where friends may call for information.
