OBITUARY.

MRS. SUSAN A. DOE.

Susan A. Tenney was born at Corinth, Vermont, on December 17, 1850, where she was married in 1877 to Mr. W.S. Doe and together they moved to California in 1881. In 1893 they removed to this city where they have made their home in east Grinnell ever since. Last week she suffered an attack of apoplexy which resulted in death at her home at 1008 Elm street on Saturday afternoon at half past four.

Services were conducted by the Rev. E.M. Vittum from the house yesterday afternoon at two o'clock and the remains were laid to rest in Hazelwood cemetery.

Her husband, W.S. Doe, a son, Charles Doe and a daughter, Miss Alice Doe, of this city, all of whom were present at her bedside, survive her.

Mrs. Doe was a woman whose sweet character was greatly admired by those who knew her. Her circle of acquaintances here was not a large one for she preferred to give her time to her home rather than to the things where she would become more widely known. She gave her entire life to her family and made the home all that loving care and ability could make it. She was greatly loved by her neighbors and by the college students who from time to time came in touch with her in the home. She will be remembered by those who knew her as a kind, capable, lovable woman whose sweet manners and good example will be kindly cherished.
