DEATH SUMMONS GEO. F. GILBERT

George F. Gilbert, known as "Jud" to the whole community, passed away Monday morning at 3 o'clock, at his home, 1401 Prince street. Mr. Gilbert was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Gilbert of Grinnell, both of whom preceded him in death.

Mr. Gilbert was born in Mahaska county August 12, 1877, and passed away Dec. 26, 1932, at the age of 55 years, 4 months and 19 days. While a small boy he moved with his parents to Grinnell where he has since made his home.

On Dec. 19, 1900, he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha M. Hillman of Grinnell. To this union three children were born, all of whom, with his wife, survive him; Sherman Gilbert of Grinnell, Mrs. Ruth McKibbon of Des Moines, and Mrs. Edith Watkins of Grinnell. He is also survived by three brothers, A.F. Gilbert of Oskaloosa, A.H. Gilbert of Grinnell and Fred Gilbert of Scobey, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. H.H. Fleener and Mrs. W.G. Schooley, both of Grinnell; also four grandsons. He was preceded in death by one brother, John, and two sisters, Ella Marcusson and Louie Sheline.

Besides his immediate family he leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends. He was a kind, loving husband and father, a helpful neighbor and friend.

Pall bearers at the funeral were six of Mr. Gilbert's nephews: Donald and Harold Schooley, Raymond, Lloyd and Harry Gilbert, and Joseph Gilbert.
