MRS. ANN JEANNETT THACKERAY

Ann Jeannett, daughter of Samuel and Lucetta Haskin, was born in Bridport, Addison county, Vermont, April 3, 1833. In November, 1834, the family removed to Brockport, Monroe county, New York; in 1840 to LaGrange county, Indiana; in 1843 to Elkhart county; in 1848 to Cass county, Michigan, where she attended school and grew to womanhood. In January, 1853, she united with the Methodist Episcopal church.

On August 24, 1853, she was united in marriage with Dr. W.N. Bradley, who died November 2, 1861. Being left without means she supported herself by her own labor until November 22, 1876, when she was again united in marriage with Francis Thackeray. Mr. Thackeray preceded her to the Better Land, July 31, 1896.

Mrs. Thackeray had no children but learned to love the five children of Mr. Thackeray.

On November 24,1910, being tired of living alone she entered the Eastern Star Masonic Home at Boone, Iowa, where she has been well cared for.

Mrs. Thackeray passed away on Monday, April 28, at 7:00 a.m., death being caused from a fall she received Friday, April 25. Frank Thackeray went to Boone and accompanied the body to Grinnell and the funeral was held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. J.M. Brown, assisted by the Eastern Star lodge. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.
