VERA FUDGE SERVICES HELD

Vera Irene Fudge, 72, of Searsboro died Sunday, Sept. 11, at her home.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Friends Community Church in Searsboro, with the Rev. Irene Weitert officiating. Pallbearers were Homer McDowell, Thomas Lowry, Ollie McDowell, Alfred Steen, Alfred Jones, and William Arthur. Honorary pallbearers were Rex James, Richard Lowry, Roger McDowell, and John Hasley. Flower attendants were Mrs. Tom Lowry, Mrs. Richard Lowry, Mrs. Ollie McDowell, and Mrs. Roger McDowell. Organist was Mrs. Leo Watson.

Burial was at the West Liberty Cemetery.

The daughter of William and Martha Stansberry Miller, she was born July 15, 1905, near Searsboro. She was married to Ora J. Fudge on Jan. 16, 1924, in Searsboro.

Mrs. Fudge is survived by her husband, Ora; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Colleen) Arthur of Mansfield, Mo., Betty Fudge of Newton, Mrs. Edwin (Nesha) Mengersen of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Gene (Donna) Lobsinger of Aurora, Colo.; two sons, Donald Fudge of Columbia, Mo., and James Fudge of Nashua, N.H.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Miller of Wichita, Kan.; and one sister, Mrs.Orville (Vivian) Benson of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond Miller.
