MAXINE LADLEY

Maxine Ladely, 94, of Grinnell died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Windsor Manor in Grinnell.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Holland Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 20, beginning at 12 noon with family members present from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Searsboro Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Windsor Manor Activities Department.

Maxine Opal Ladely, daughter of George and Phern Jones Calhoun, was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Appleton City, Mo. She was united in marriage with Lavern Ladely on Aug. 25, 1932. She worked as a housekeeper for Grinnell College prior to working at DeLong Sportswear.

She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Davis of Grinnell, Marilyn Badger of Ames and Diana Wansley of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Donald Calhoun of Brooksville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Glen Ladely and Melvin Ladely; and two brothers, Evan Calhoun and Maurice Calhoun.
